Spread your winter salt faster and easier!

Looking for a fast and easy way to spread salt in the winter? Use a fertilizer spreader.

Use a drop spreader instead of a broadcast model to avoid killing the grass near narrow sidewalks. The Scotts brand model I bought was about $20 – more than worth it for several hundred feet of sidewalk. Also, the smaller the particle size, the better it works, so make sure the salt isn’t too big.

Last tip: Make sure you remove the salt from the spreader in the spring :-)
